About Wellnurse

At WellNurse Mental Health Services, we provide specialist, trauma-informed mental health care grounded in advanced clinical practice, collaboration, and evidence-based treatment.

As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner service, we offer comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, therapeutic support, and coordinated care tailored to each individual’s needs, experiences, and treatment goals.

We recognise that mental health presentations are complex and deeply personal. Our approach combines clinical rigour with a human and collaborative model of care, ensuring individuals feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment planning.

WellNurse has a particular focus on supporting veterans, first responders, professional women, and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, and other complex mental health challenges. We work closely with GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, allied health professionals, and support services to deliver integrated and recovery-focused care.

meet Kelly

Nurse Practitioner (Mental health)
Clinical Director

Kelly is an accomplished and compassionate mental health clinician with advanced training in psychiatric nursing and over 20 years of specialist experience in complex mental health assessment, trauma-informed care, and systems navigation. She is particularly renowned for her in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and first responders, including the psychosocial impacts of service, the intricacies of transition, and the lasting effects of trauma exposure.

Having worked extensively within both Joint Health Command and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), Kelly brings both clinical expertise and detailed operational knowledge of the legislative frameworks that underpin veteran entitlements and compensation pathways. She has supported countless individuals and families through the complexities of DVA claims, including the application of Statements of Principles (SOPs), eligibility criteria, impairment assessments, and medico-legal reporting processes. Her unique capacity to interpret, apply, and advocate within these systems enables her to provide care that is not only clinically sound but practically effective—bridging the often-overwhelming gap between lived experience and bureaucratic systems.

Kelly’s scope of practice has also been shaped by her work in senior clinical roles at a major tertiary women’s and children’s hospital, where she developed a passion for women's mental health and wellbeing. As a working mother herself, she understands the often-invisible load carried by women juggling careers, families, caring roles, and personal identity. She brings this lived experience into the therapeutic space, offering a kind, non-judgemental, and clinically informed environment where clients feel seen, validated, and supported.

Kelly holds a Master of Nursing, Graduate Diplomas in Counselling and Mental Health Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is currently completing her Master of Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health), and is deeply committed to advanced, evidence-based practice. Her clinical style is grounded in the DSM-5 and trauma-informed frameworks, enabling her to offer comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnostic clarification, medication reviews, and therapeutic planning that reflects the complexity of the individual.

Through WellNurse Mental Health Services, Kelly offers not only clinical expertise but also a network of trusted relationships with allied health professionals—both within Western Australia and nationally. She works closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, general practitioners, physiotherapists, dietitians, and specialist providers to ensure each client’s care is collaborative, integrated, and genuinely holistic.

Kelly believes that mental health care should feel safe, personalised, and empowering. Whether you’re navigating the effects of service-related trauma, burnout, parenting stress, or life transitions, she offers a space where your story will be heard, your strengths will be recognised, and your recovery will be supported with compassion and clinical clarity.
